Childrens Homes, Inc. has a multi-faceted, professionally structured, Christian childcare program.

Our Main Services Consist of the Following:

Adoption Services: Seeks to meet the needs of the child, birthparents and the adoptive parents. The majority of adoptive placements today are for special needs children.

Foster Family Care: Designed for children who can benefit from the closeness of a small family on a temporary basis.

Residential Group Care: 9 houses in Paragould, Ark. and 1 in North Little Rock, Ark., provide a loving, caring home environment where children are taught to be responsible.

Little Red Schoolhouse: Every new child in care  receives one-on-one help in academics and spiritual training, with special attention given to psychological, behavioral or social problems. Each child will enroll at regular school upon reaching their proper grade level. This program’s present capacity is 12 students. In the near future the new construction will begin for the James Balcom Learning Center.  We then will be able to have 24 students to help grow academically and spiritually.

Children’s Homes Adventure Challenge Experience (C.H.A.C.E.): An experiential learning program using a variety of low/high rope and wilderness activities, where values of trust, cooperation and teamwork are taught.

Transitional Living: Serves young adults, ages 17 through college age, in a semi-independent living cottage setting. The goal of the program is to provide a place where young adults can live, practice independent living skills, establish a career path and deepen their personal faith in God.

Stepping Out Program: Residents are stepping out into areas that will prepare them for independent living.  Youth are trained in ceramics, woodworking, livestock, agriculture, horticulture, maintenance, painting, and electrical work.  Youth are taught marketable skills and confidence to compete in the workplace as an adult.

Equine Therapy: EAP is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, in other words horses are used as an aide to work with youth and teens with emotional and behavioral problems. The residents of Children's Homes are provided with the experiential learning working with horses provides. Learning a variety of skills, which can be transferred over into many different situations in life.

Working Together: Working with children and their parents one Saturday each month. This program enables parents and their children to focus on past problems, find solutions, learn to treat each other with respect and especially helps parents take control of their families by learning new parenting skills.

Child and Family Outreach Center:  The Child and Family Outreach Center reaches out to the church and community to provide help for children, married couples, and families. Mercy Ministries offers practical advise to families about topics that concern them in the 21st century.  These lessons are taught in bible classes or other venues.   "A Place to Talk" is a counseling program for persons in the community or church who want professional counseling from a biblical perspective.  We will be producing a puppet show for families (watch for it on Paragould's City Cable channel 25). The Child and Family Outreach Center also provides referral help for families who need help, but do not know where to turn.
